Ordinary spell checkers do not take into account the context of the sentence or paragraph when it is being used. The context of the sentence can be leveraged to assist many things.
Severe Spelling Error Correction
Ghotit has developed an innovative context spell checker which is optimised for people with dyslexia, dysgraphia, and other learning disabilities. Ghotit can leverage it’s context spelling engine to produce a long list of candidate words, but then reducing this list and present to the user only the words that make sense in the context of the specific written sentence. High performance techniques were introduced in order to ensure that Ghotit’s context sensitive analysis does not affect user experience and does not introduce spell checking result delays.
Misused, Confused Word Correction
Ordinary spell checkers either do not provide very limited identification of misused words. Many spell checkers cannot identify misused words as they don’t have, or have very simple, context spellchecking algorithms. Without appropriate context knowledge, the spell checker does not have any information to provide for misused words. Without appropriate context knowledge, the spell checker does not have any information to provide for a misused word, and will leave such words unmarked. In such situations, the writer will not even know that there are errors in his context. Ghotit context spell checking algorithms have been targeted to effectively identify words that have been spelled correctly but has been identified as misused according to the words’ sentence.
Ghotit performs grammar and punctuation corrections so that the writer can be sure that their work is of the top quality.
Split and Merge Words Correction
Many times users accidentally or knowingly split words, such as “birth day” instead of “birthday” or merge words such as “oneday” instead of “one day”. Ghotit detects these errors and makes appropriate suggestions.
Ghotit’s Enrichment feature can be sued to show the user where they have repeated the same words several times. This helps to improve the user’s vocabulary, use richer language in their written work and avoid repetition, It helps to remove the worry that they do not know how to “write properly”
