Hands Free Release Two New CPD Courses
The Disability Awareness Course (DAC) and the Workplace Assessor Course (WAC) are available through Hands Free Computing as the first independently accredited CPD courses of their kind – anywhere.
Hands Free have been at the forefront of new products and services that help individuals with physical disabilities and neurodiversities in both the workplace and education for over 23 years. It’s our passion for creating a fairer world where everyone can flourish that lead us to develop these courses in conjunction with the CPD Standards Agency. Our expert experience and knowledge have been used to create these courses which are suitable for people from a wide range of backgrounds and experience.
These online courses have no time limit for completion and can be undertaken at your own pace on a module by module basis. Access to the content is kept after passing and we actively encourage course users to revisit any areas to reinforce their learning of new best practices, guidance and technologies.
The Disability Awareness Course (DAC) features 10 modules which equate to 5 hours’ worth of CPD. It was primarily designed to assist people to become more disability aware by increasing their knowledge through the principles of:
- Organisational practices which support physical and learning disabilities
- Understanding the benefits of different thinking styles
- How best to create conditions that can provide creativity, dynamism and collaboration within teams.
The Workplace Assessor Course (WAC), is the only independently accredited CPD course for all Workplace Assessors in the UK to recognise the work they do to support people in a broad variety of different environments. Created in conjunction with numerous specialist assessors including ergonomics, neurodiversities, visual impairments and hearing impairments through to software manufacturers and assistive technology trainers, it ensures best practice from assessors by keeping them up to date with the latest solutions and provides confidence to their customers that they have the most qualified, current and relevant knowledge to correctly assess their needs.
With regular updates to ensure that only the most up-to-date information is included, it allows assessors to log in to its nine modules at any time to access the 11 hours’ worth of CPD knowledge and gain the only nationally recognised qualification of its type by the CPD standards office.
Both of these courses are currently being offered at reduced introductory rates to try and best help as many people as possible during COVID-19 to best adapt to the variations to normal working environments experienced by the increasing number of people either working from home or from dual locations.
