Swansea is first Disability Confident Employer City

Taurai Horton - Disability Confident SwanseaLawrence Howard (MD) and Amanda Warren (New Business & Communications) attended Swansea’s Disability Confident Employer Event on 30th June 2015 at the Marriott Hotel Swansea.  At the event it was excitedly announced that Swansea will be the first disability confident employer city link.

Disability Confident is about letting disabled people know that their skills are recognised by employers, at the same time as encouraging firms to reap the benefits of a diverse workforce and disabled talent.

This gave Hands Free an opportunity to spotlight their pledge to the Disability Confident Campaign. At the beginning of 2015 whilst meeting the previous Minister of Disability Mark Harper, Hands Free committed to aspire to be Clear Assured by 31st December 2015 link.

Our partners from Clear Company were in attendance; Kate Headley provided an exceptional speech on the benefits of the Disability Confident campaign.

Melanie Davies - Disability Confident Swansea

The event was tremendous with a variety of speakers; one of our favourites was Melanie Davies who provided us with an honest insight into her colourful life and her personal experience as a wheelchair user.
